Join us for storytimes, author visits, and special celebrations. Each event is designed to spark imagination and foster a love of reading in children of all ages.
Paint. Play. Connect. This family class is an easy, joyful way to bond through art. With a thoughtful methodology, you'll spend an hour pleasantly painting and leave with a beautiful piece you’ll both be proud of. No pressure. No perfection. Just fun, connection, and creativity. The class is adapted to each family's ages and capacities, though it is recommended for ages over 3.
Ages 3+A week of summer evenings being loud, silly, and expressive at Wagar Park — then walking into the bookstore to turn it all into a performance. Ends with a showcase Friday night.
Ages Rising 6th–7th gradersJoin us to learn a new hobby that will add some personality to anything you own! Local hobbists Heather and Jackie will be here showing us how it's done! Don't miss it! We will provide the supplies with the ticket price.
Ages 10+Join us this month for 'The Wind in the Willows' by Kenneth Grahame.
Ages 6-12Four mornings of fairy tales, pretend play, and puppet-making at The Wandering Lantern and Wagar Park. Your child heads home with a handmade friend and a story to tell.
Ages Rising kindergartenersTwo yoga sessions, one cozy bookstore. Jena from Camp Sunshine leads Parent & Tot at 5 PM and Kids Yoga at 6 — movement, music, games, and stories.
Ages 1-10Join us this month for 'The Secret Garden' by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
Ages 6-12Grab a brush and paint alongside your little one. Ohio City Art House brings a guided painting class to The Wandering Lantern — no experience needed, just show up and create something together.
Ages 3+A real silhouette artist, right here in the bookstore. Chris Casey cuts your child's profile in minutes — a keepsake that lasts forever. Book your slot ahead of time.
Ages All agesStory Karaoke runs 11–2. Abby Dosen signs books 11–12:30. Face painting until 1pm. Teen poets at 3:30. The Lakewood Music Academy demos at 4:30. Plus all-day raffle, scavenger hunt, and craft activity. It's our biggest day of the year.
